Our story
Straight lines, honest numbers.
Most people who ring a carpenter have already been let down by one — someone who didn't turn up, went quiet for a fortnight, or whose price moved once the job was already open. Trager Contracting is built around not being that.
The work is mostly residential: roof and wall frames on new builds, then the decking, cladding and outdoor work that follows. It means we see a house from truss stage right through to the details people notice from the footpath — and the earlier we're involved, the fewer compromises there are later.
I've been on the tools since 2020 and started Trager Contracting in 2023. We're a small outfit — me and a couple of hands — and I'm on every job. That's deliberate. You get the person who quoted the work actually doing the work, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the site. And if we're booked out, or it isn't work we're the right fit for, I'll tell you that up front instead of stringing you along and letting you down later.

How we work
Quote it properly
We measure on site and put it in writing, with the inclusions and exclusions clearly listed — so there's no guessing about what's covered once work starts.
Set out before you cut
Levels, falls and joint positions get worked out before the first board goes down. It's slower on day one and considerably faster after that.
Leave it clean
Offcuts, packaging and fixings go with us. You shouldn't be finding screws in the lawn six months later.
